About
Well….about me. I’m
40+ something and have been married for 27 years to my handsome husband and best friend. We have two happy and healthy kids and one spoiled dog. I am a licensed social worker and do medical case management. I was diagnosed with seronegative RA in September 2007. Thanks to an excellent rheumatologist and modern medicine, most people don’t even know that I have it. I am determined to do everything in my power to not let it change my life in a negative way. I’m a true believer that everything has a purpose. I believe that you play the hand that you are dealt and do it to the best of your ability, and let God handle the rest. I trust in Him daily to supply all my needs.

I ran across you blog after searching how to live a normal life with RA. I am 27 years old with a 9 month son. My doc thought I had RA before I got preggers and I went into remission during until 6 weeks after birth and then it went crazy! I could not even get out of bed on my own. Luckily through the help of meds I feel much better now. Still have pain but I have back to working out and living normally with the exception of a few more complaints
Anyways I am so glad to read that someone is living pretty normally, bc when you look on the internet all you see is gloom and how you are going to be disabled.
Hi Jessica,
I’m glad you are doing better and trying to get back to “normal”. With a 9 month old, you need all the help you can get! lol Enjoy him, because he will be grown far too soon! (Mine just turned 20 and it seems like yesterday when he was toddling around) RA isn’t fun for anyone, but for me and many others diagnosed with it…it is manageable. We just got back from the mountains in Colorado over the Christmas holiday and I SKIIED! I almost started crying when I came down for the first time. Skiing is one of my favorite things to do and I was so afraid that those days were over. I am not able to ski as aggressively as I used to, but that’s okay. Skiing the easy trails is good enough for me! Anyway, please keep in touch and let me know how things are going.
Just noticed that you haven’t posted on this blog for a while. Hope you’re doing ok!!!
